Philly police declare war on open carriers as Democrat convention gets started

OpenCarry.org

(A national pro-gun Internet community of over 39,000 registered members
focused on the right to openly carry properly holstered handguns in daily American life)

For Immediate Release – July 25, 2016
---------
As the Republican Convention ended in Ohio,
Cleveland's police chief [Calvin Williams]. . . said that
“open carrying turned out not to be much of an issue at the [Republican] convention in Cleveland.”

But now Philadelphia Police spokesman Lt. Raymond Evers tells
“FoxNews.com that gun owners who open carry during the Democrat Convention, which is legal in the city, may be asked to lay on the ground until officers feel safe while they check permits.”

Lay down? Really? Like dogs?

Lt. Raymond Evers policy may cost
both Philly cops & taxpayers at least $25,000 per unconstitutional permit check

OpenCarry.org urges calmer heads
to take charge of the Philadelphia Police Force – like ASAP

Wear comfy clothes, maybe include a pillow strapped strategically.
Get on ground, smile, laugh. Be submissive (Not 'cooperative as you and the police are Definitely Not working towards a common goal)
Get up, smile, laugh. Contact said 'hungry lawyer'.

Find a friend to call the police and repeat the procedure; run them ragged with their own rules.
Sooner or later, someone's gonna get tired; will it be them, or you?

Oh, but didn't you know that was the whole legislative intent behind requiring an LTCH to OC in Philadelphia? The legislators intended to allow police to make all OCers lie down. (/sarcasm)

And, the nice chief is leaving out something: handcuffs. If the cop's comfort is out of balance by mere handgun, you know he's going to both seize the gun temporarily, and handcuff the OCer. Its all part of the package. Once the one is authorized, the rest are, too.

I think an immediate FOIA is in order to find the contents of official memos from the Chief's office to the commanders and down the chain about this. "You may make an OCer lay down while you check his LTCH. And, since that will take a while to type in and run through the database, you may handcuff the individual. Oh, and don't forget to thoroughly frisk him. If he has an LTCH, he could also be carrying a concealed back-up weapon. Some of these arrogant people carry a back-up gun, but others carry a knife to fend off gun grabs. Better check for concealed weapons of whatever nature. You may thank the intelligence branch for collecting that information while checking up on the website of people exercising a fundamental human right--OCDO."

We also carry audio and video recorders + tend to travel together, sometimes in sizeable groups, often with an attorney present.

The chief might want to reconsider before letting the dogs out to play.
