We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :)
Please help by posting all issues here.
The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I remember seeing information from the Biden campaign in 2020 in which he stated he wanted so called "assault weapons" treated like class 3 firearms. You'd have to pay a tax, have it registered, and never be able to sell it or buy another one.
I saw it on-line with a list of other draconian...
I’ll bet NYC, Hawaii, and other jurisdictions will normalize CCW kicking and screaming and it will take other court actions and enforcement to get them to obey the Constitution.
Didn’t read the entire opinion. Why was CCW only addressed and not open carry?
People get upset when I tell them this, but the main objective of the peace officer is to maintain order. To maintain order so the governmental unit they work for can continue to function. When it says "To Serve and Protect" on the side of the squad car it's not talking about you. And even...
It's whatever the anti's say it is. And seeing they know little to nothing about the arms they want to ban, that is a scary thought.
But from what I read it's any concealable firearm that fires rifle ammunition. Will that include arms like the Ruger 57 or any handgun chambered for .22 long rifle?
Took me a while. But I got back to Barnes and Noble at Mayfair Mall yesterday. Absolutely no postings regarding weapons anywhere on their sole entrance from the inside. Not on the outside door nor on the doors in the vestibule.
There is one way into the mall area from the book store, it's on...
I went into the Barnes and Noble store at Mayfair about 2 weeks ago. I didn’t see a sign on the B&N entrance. I didn’t see a sign from the store entrance into the mall area either. Perhaps I will go back and double check. If there are signs I will correct myself here.
It’s not a crime to...
The statute says officers have to have departed from their agency in good standing. So I don’t see how a fired officer can receive a firearm certification card.
Wisconsins statute gives out of state licensees the same status as resident licensees. If your permit/license is valid here you’re fine as long as you don’t actually go on school grounds.
The statute appears to say that having a license or permit that is valid in Wisconsin makes carry in the zone legal. It’s actually being on school grounds itself that’s a big no-no.
The state wisely ranked non-licensed carry in the zone down to a forfeiture (non-criminal) but still complies with...
Put a Glock 48 two-tone into my personal collection. Comes with two 10 round single stack magazines but Shield Arms makes a 15 round mag that fits flush.
The pistol is a total blast to shoot and the Shield magazines functioned flawlessly. The narrow grip makes the pistol easy to control, even...
I was at an in-service training session last week that dealt purely with the DNC which we will be providing mutual aid to help cover that area, which is huge. I asked about OC and concealed carry and basically got deer in headlights. One person said they thought carry would be prohibited under...
Perhaps not under federal law, depending on the arm, but there may be state prohibitions. Which s why I always suggest speaking to a qualified attorney on the subject rather than just accepting info that is online.
Unless there are extenuating circumstances you didn't present pretty much, none. Did he get his rights restored? Was there a deferred prosecution? Was the crime in California also considered a felony in NM? He has both state and federal laws barring him from ownership.
He might be able to own...
Yes to all. And we visited Roswell on our way to Clovis (have a friend there). My friend and I both had several weeks of paid time off that we had to use or lose. So we spent two weeks of it in New Mexico. It’s something we both talked about doing for the last 2 years. We each have friends...
I posted many times on these boards that it was a law I disagreed with even though I benefitted from it. My Congresscritter at the time (a pro gun Republican) voted against HR218 and I applauded him for it. Creating special classes of people should not be happening in an alleged free country...
Still doesn’t explain why some of the gas stations we encountered had those signs posted and others had no signs at all. Per COL’s cite shouldn’t the unposted station of had a “No carry except concealed” sign?
I don't see posts from those on my ignore list.
Alright, but why do they have some businesses posted but not others, when the businesses are exactly the same? And if these 2 state agencies are at odds with each other and the law, why aren't gun rights groups in the area raising a fuss?
I...
I carry under HR218. But the person I was with has permits/licenses from Florida, Utah, and Wisconsin, of which Floridas is valid in New Mexico. (We shared a chuckle over one of his older Florida permits where the issuing commissioner was named Charles Bronson.)
The signs we saw did not say...
