We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :)
Please help by posting all issues here.
The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Good to know. I was aware of the duty to inform. My home state is the same way. I’ll definitely get a NC carry permit, but in that transition period from MI to NC resident I want to be able to carry concealed. The fact localities can regulate OC and the fact your car carry law about being “open...
I may be moving to NC. I have a valid Michigan CPL. I think once I’m no longer a resident the permit is no longer good as Michigan does not issue non-resident permits. I plan to get a NC permit, but I have to wait 30 days after establishing residency to apply then wait even longer for the...
What type of gun belt do you guys use? I currently use a 5.11 casual belt that I really like. It's quite stiff and works fairly well for OWB carry, but it's beat to heck. I considered getting a Wilderness Tactical, but after seeing someones who said it doesn't hold up well over time I scrapped...
I will be visiting Nashville in a little over a week and had a question about carrying in downtown. I will be going with my friend to see a Predators/Red Wings game. While I realize I won't be able to carry in Bridgestone Arena I was curious about other places in downtown Nashville. Do many...
Don't have a link to the story yet, but saw on Fox 17 that Wing Doozy is offering a 25% discount to all CPL holders. Here is a link to their photo on the Facebook. I for one will make an attempt to eat their tomorrow on my way to Big Rapids...
Anyone here planing to go the committee hearing for SB 59? Supposed to be at 9 A.M. I am thinking I will make the trip out to Lansing.
ETA: This will be Tuesday December 11th in the Anderson building.
I would like to note that I believe the guy was carrying concealed and that the state of Minnesota issues carry permits not concealed carry permits.

I'm sure some of you have already seen this but if not it's a good video to watch. It was clearly made before the McDonald decision but after Heller.

I know someone who has a Kershaw Scallion knife. We got to talking about whether it would be legal to carry in Michigan (he is from Indiana) because of 750.226a.
Here is a video showing how it opens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu-D7jYlUok It's not really a button or mechanical way to get...
I am being told that if a state were to pass constitutional carry (cc) then that state will see a boat load of pistol free zones (pfz) added to the listed of places where people can't carry. So I figured I'd go right to the sources. Is this true for your state? And not only the PFZ but did you...
What do you guys use for a gun belt? I am looking at getting a new one and I don't care to hear about just a thick leather belt, I mean a belt designed for carrying a gun.

Michiganians can now carry in Maine on their Michigan CPLs. I know there was someone on here who was saying a reason they don't visit Maine is because they won't recognize Michigan's permit.
It's official, The Capital Area District Library's no weapons policy is legal. The CADL recently implemented the policy but groups like Michigan Open Carry said the library couldn't do that.

Saw Arizona was proud of their score of 0 for the Brady Campaign scorecard so I figured us Michiganians should see what we got.

25 isn't bad but I think we can get it lower with the new republican control. Somehow Illinois only got a 35...
I know this has been brought up before but can we please remove some of the unnecessary stickies? I'm not saying its a bad topic/thread but we do not need to leave it up there forever.
BAY CITY — When a Bay City party store worker wore a “stun gun” on the job for personal protection, he was charged with a crime.
A Bay County judge ruled today, though, that the Michigan law prohibiting possession of stun guns is unconstitutional...
