It is my pleasure to report to you that Assembly Bill 148 has cleared the Nevada Assembly and has now been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

We must make a continuous effort to urge Senator Greg Brower, Chairman, to schedule a hearing and work session on this bill. If his offices phone is not ringing non-stop with requests to hear this bill, we are not doing everything we can to pass this legislation Please contact his office:

Well Brower just killed SB-148, Constitutional Carry, by not letting it out of committee, so we'll have to see what kind of politics he'll be playing with this one, particularly when you consider the party line vote AB-148 got in the Assembly.

If his loyalty is to Sandoval or some other type of sweetheart deal, this too will die a slow death in committee. We hammered his office with SB-143 and received nothing but lip service followed by a total mid-term abortion. His job was to get it to a vote and then pass it out of committee for the entire Senate to review. Apparently he felt compelled to do otherwise.

It's not a government for the PEOPLE, it's a government for GREG BROWER's political career.

He's taking his chairmanship right out of the pages of Harry Reid's playbook. RINO of the worst measure.

We'll have to see who's pulling the strings this time around.

I'll not disagree.

But perhaps - just maybe - one bright spot is the fact that SB-350 was introduced AND SB-350 got a waiver, meaning it is exempt from deadlines.

IF AB-148 fails, SB-350 will still be in play.

I have contacted Senator Brower's office. In addition I have contacted my Senator asking him to contact Senator Brower and urge him to bring this to a vote.

We would not likely be in this position if we didn't keep giving the Republidems the power they usurp.

The only thing they care about is keeping their seats.

The only way to get their attention is to promise that, if they don't do what you're expecting, you will vote for someone else -- even a member of the opposite party.

Then you have to DO it.

Although I wrote to every Republican state Senator about (6) weeks basically saying that I considered a NO vote on any PRO 2nd amendment "state treason" and vowed to never vote for them ever for ANYTHING, I didn't realize what a weasel Brower is. Although the below link is from a "Progressive" (Socialist under a different name) blog, it does show how he sucked up to the "tea party types" while running and praised them when others did and how he tried a run for Congress and NV attorney general. Because of term limits he is looking to the future. Trying to be a "moderate( (RINO) to go after some Dem votes when he tries to go national. He is a LOSER and I doubt he is going to change his mind.

Nevada campus carry proposal brought back to life
Posted May 13, 2015 - 2:31pm Updated May 13, 2015 - 8:59pm

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL CAPITAL BUREAU

CARSON CITY — A “campus carry” bill believed to be dead in the Senate will be amended into another Second Amendment measure on Friday, Assembly Judiciary Chairman Ira Hansen said Wednesday.

Hansen said that because the Senate Judiciary Committee won’t hear Assembly Bill 148 that would allow those with concealed weapons permits to carry their weapons on college campuses, it will be amended into a Senate bill on the deadline day for committee action on most bills.

I've been aware of this plan for a couple weeks now, but I had to keep it quiet until Assemblyman Hansen and Assemblywoman Fiore notified the caucus about their intent. More than one way to skin a cat indeed. And since Roberson is the Primary sponsor of SB175 it wouldn't be in his best interests to leave it twisting in the wind when it goes back to the senate floor for confirmation.

Yes, it seems we do have politicians that are willing to WORK to present bills the people are asking for. Good news, and I'm loving their strategy.

I've got to say, I'll admire it if it succeeds. Hell of a game of chicken, but what a way to play the game. Checkmate!

Perhaps "game playing" is not what we the citizens of the state want. If a bill passes in one house, the other house should be required to give it an up or down vote. Too much power rested in
the hands of committee chairmen.

Agreed. I've had second thoughts. This is setting the whole thing up for failure. Sandoval and Brower want this stuff to die. They won't respond to this game. Just politicians sacrificing our desires on their theatrical altar. Hansen's stunt will loose us the blue cards forever. Are their initiatives at the county/city level?

Committees need to go away now.

Currently I live up here in Reno, but I will be moving to Vegas in August for school, and I would be ecstatic if I don't have to go get blue cards. As much as I supported AB 148 and wrote in supporting it, I think I'd choose no blue cards over campus carry if I had to. But having both would be lovely

Looks like Fiore and Hansen chose neither for us.
