Yup, I was confronted again for walking through the store carrying openly. They have pretty good timing too considering it was about a year ago when I last had an issue with an employees at Sam's. So it all started when I was on my way out and I went into the restroom and when I came out, there was the store manager standing there waiting for me. So I'm thinking "here we go again", and she asked me if I was a LEO. I said "Nope", and she went on to tell me guns are banned in the store except for LEO's because Sam's Club is a club and not a regular store. I replied with "Yeah? Can I please see that policy in writing?" She said "Sure", and we took a walk over to the front of the store to the service desk. There I stood for a half hour, as she and 3 other employees poured over policies and all of them came up empty. They called a few stores and all of the managers there said "they thought guns were banned in their stores." The manager called HQ and they could not find any policy banning OC or CC. Eventually the manager told me that she worked at a Sam's in Maine and she said as far as she knew guns were not allowed in their stores. To my knowledge, their policy is to follow state law. The manager told me she had no problem with me carrying the gun, and that it was the customer that made a stink about my gun. I told her there are probably a lot of customers going through her store every day concealing their gun, and she told me that if she ever found out that a customer was carrying concealed she would have them removed from the property with a police escort. So I don't buy for a second that she didn't mind me OCing when she was so far against people CCing. Now during this whole thing she didn't ask me to leave or cover it up, I would have respected their request if they chose to ask me to do either. The manager ended up taking my name and number and said she would get back to me with the policy. I plan on continuing to OC until they come up with company policy in print, and if they do, I plan on taking my business elsewhere.
