"The controversial but popular and successful Drag Queen Story Hours that have happened in cities across the country are programs consistent with the library's values of respect for individuals and inclusion," Burchfield (interim library director) said in a statement.

So with all this inclusion we should get a pro-gun storytime thing going! AR-15s and Lever Actions present as we read stories of the founding of this nation.

From Louisville, Vanessa has successfully been a noted entertainer innthe area for quite a few years, tho not publicized this much in the past!

Glad the library mgmt pulled their heads out and rescheduled.

I think it could be easily done. The problem will be getting any gun owners to show up. I am sure that the library would ask for an estimate of the number of likely participants and when we told them an honest guess they would probably decline the suggestion and claim it wasn't popular enough. I am certain that the LGBTQ community can turn out a much larger crowd than we ever could.

Ah then do a mixed group of queens and OC’ers...oh invite mommies too, now that would be quite a gathering...

When a pro gun group or individual does something worth showing up too, the crowd will be there.

Attending mad cow meetings, or showing up to beg a bit more permission instead of our right ain't it. And for years that's all a handful of self appointed , speakers for ky gun owners have done.

The angry moms took up others air in Frankfort when permit less carry passed. Did them a lot of good didn't it.

Politicians could care less who is sitting in the gallery. They care about reelection.
Not passing permit less carry this time was going to roll more heads this time as it did last time.

Most librarians are rabidly anti-Trump, anti-conservative, anti-American-legacy, and (can you guess the next one?) anti-gun. Not just kinda sorta - many are hardcore, participating in "Women's March" and steady stream of hate-posts against all things non-socialist on social media. Drag queens are "included" because that falls within the partisan agenda they support. Guns do not, nor is inclusiveness a value generally and honestly embraced. Selective inclusions, that is. People don't realize that the libraries are almost as far left as the universities. Encourage pro-Constitution young wimminfolks (and men if so inclined) to pursue a career in teaching, library, journalism, etc.

Won’t happen. Author Stephen King long ago characterized American culture as post-literate and public libraries are conclusive evidence of that truth. Literacy does not consist in being able to read, having read and significantly is essential. On this, E. D. Hirsch may be a good place to start.

OCing is a public thing.
Yes, it is a public thing. I OC'ed in a library this morning. Not a word spoken by any of these rabidly anti-gun librarians, except for one that very politely asked me to speak a little lower. I didn't see any Ky. gun owners magically appear to join in.

I OC ed to the bank, the courthouse, and two grocery stores. Nobody said a word or gave me a second glance.

You didn't magically appear where I was either.

Stop that immediately. You are a self-appointed spokesman for Ky. gun owners. You must await your appointment. The appointers will be along any minute to identify themselves. Oh wait, won't that make them self appointed appointers? Here let me help you out, I hereby appoint you as a spokesman for Ky. gun owners. Good luck, go forth and sin no more.

While acknowledging your presumption at humor not withstanding, every citizen in this country who carries a handgun is considered a representative to the cause and to allude someone needs any sort of ‘blessing’ or appointment does a disingenuous service to the overal cause.

Perhaps you should follow your own advice, quote Good luck, go forth and sin no more. Unquote

That you would feel the entitlement to be the one appointing gun owners who share your positions, really isn't that surprising.

If I ever become AG I will make sure you don’t regret the appointment
