Got lucky with BWW, was told they have a strict no gun policy. I was asked to disarm while seated in general dining after we had placed our orders.

I know for a fact, that my sidearm was not invisible as I was wearing a Lime/Neon Green Polo & black shorts. The handle of my sidearm could be seen easily against the lime/neon green backdrop.
2 times in a row I've been in BWW while OCing, 1st time (a weekday lunch visit) I had on a Salmon polo with black slacks. The 1st time I was there the sidearm should have been seen at least once by the employees at the entrance with how I was sitting. This last time (Sunday Night dinner), we were seated out on the patio. I passed several seated patrons while both entering & exiting, as well as stopping by the "To-Go" counter to pick up some bottles of sauces to bring home.

Dad applied for his CPL
Picked up my father from work, & went to the Franklin County Courthouse, so he could get paperwork & fingerprinting done to get his CPL. Barely walked in to the Security Checkpoint & the staff asked me if needed lock box. I said yes, & after lock box was placed on table, I opened it & placed my holstered sidearm & 2 extra magazines inside & locked it. Took dad over to the new Franklin County Sheriff's Office (his first time at the new location) & got everything done. In the process of leaving, stopped by the Security Checkpoint to reacquire sidearm & magazines. Next stop was Sportsman's Warehouse to get a cleaning tip to clean sidearms & as was not handling sidearm (or an employee handling), didn't have to worry about checking in at customer service, so no issues. Next stop was dinner at Taco Bell on Road 68 & everyone seemed to be in condition white. Made a quick stop at GameStop on Road 68 to change a pre-order with no issues. Picked up a few items at Walmart (Pasco) with no one batting an eye. Over to Staples (Kennewick/Richland) then to Dollar Tree (Kennewick off Canal Drive) for a few items (no issues at either). Made a gas stop at Court & Road 26 staying at the car the whole time. All around, it seems people are in condition white too much to even pay attention to their surroundings.

Continued OCing adventures
On Friday, the family decided to go to Spokane to partake in some delicious food at Golden Corral & to try our luck at the slots in Northern Quest Casino. Both mom & I were carrying (she was CC, I was OC). On our way up, we made a rest stop at the Sprague Lake Eastbound Rest Area. When arrived, there was a younger guy acting younger than he actually was, & as I walked past him, he noticed my sidearm on my right hip & suddenly acted more appropriate for his age. From the rest stop we made a quick stop at the Airway Heights Walmart to do a bit of window shopping & for dad to cash his check from work. I noticed a few looks from other patrons, but nothing else. We then proceeded to go to Golden Corral for dinner (they were very busy) & the whole time there, all I noticed was a few looks. After dinner, we went to Northern Quest Casino, where both mom & I secured our holstered firearms in our vehicle before proceeding to the Casino Floor. We stayed about 2 hours then decided to head home. On the way home, we stopped at the Sprague Lake Westbound Rest Area & both mom & I rearmed ourselves & we were the only ones there. After that we got home.
Yesterday, mom & I ran a few errands in Tri-Cities. Mom was CCing & I was OCing. Our first stop was Country Mercantile, north of Pasco, for a rest stop. Being that they're doing the Harvest Festival they were very busy, but apparently no one seemed to notice or care that I was carrying. Next stop we made was Golden Age Food Share to supplement our food stores & they're used to me carrying there, in fact all the time I've carried there no one has said anything to me. Off to the Rite Aid on US 395 in Kennewick for mom to pick up her prescription & as I was going to check my vitals at the HIGI Station, the gal who placed her bags on the seat gave me a look but nothing said. Over to WinCo Foods on Clearwater to pick up a few groceries & just had a few looks. Then we went to McDonalds on Canal Drive for lunch & the manager didn't seem to care/notice that I was carrying. Made a brief stop at Sportsman's Warehouse to check on an OWB Holster for mom for her to OC with, she had unloaded her sidearm while using the restroom & when doing the sidearm check-in, mom mentioned she had the unloaded rounds in her pocket, it was re-iterated that the sidearm when checked in could not have any rounds with it/on the person, & she left the rounds in a bag at Customer Service (the associate saw me & had a smirk on her face when talking with mom about the policy, as she knew I knew better). As I wasn't handling my sidearm I didn't need to check mine in. No other issues there. After that we were homeward bound.

Un-holstered today
Un-holstered today, Its been years and years since I felt the need to do so. I was getting gas at the pump closest to the front door of a North Spokane convenience store, I walked in to make a purchase and about half way back to the car a big German Shepherd mix came from the other side of the fuel island hair up growling at me. It was too far to retreat back to the store and too much time to get into the car so I drew and flicked the safety off and held my 1911 along side of my leg. Fortunately the dog stopped coming at me because the lady was screaming at it at the top of her lungs and after a second or two, seemed like a full minute, she got the dog by the collar and dragged it back to her van. While it scared the crap out of me at the time because I thought I was gonna get chewed on, I was pleased that all my training kicked in. I finished gassing up and left. I am pretty sure no one saw me draw and I did not stick around to talk to anyone. We always think about protecting our selves from other people but I have never given much thought to protecting my self from a 120 lb dog until today.

while i am pleased your limb's were not knaw'd on by the beastie, i hope you will forgive this Monday quarterbacking...you should have filed a police report w/their vehicle's tag, about the attack...this way your story is on the books first verses the screaming lady filing a report, w/your license number, about some crazy man pulled their nasty, huge, assault gun on my poor defenseless dog who was doing nothing more but wanting to be friendly.
especially if the dog has a history...

You are forgiven, LOL Good thoughts, this is how we all learn. I actually thought about doing exactly what you have suggested. I am 100% positive that she never saw my firearm she was intent on getting the dog under control. One concern is that what if that dog was in fact dangerous, IMHO it likely is, did I do the next person that gets bit a disservice by not reporting it.

I have given it great thought, probably because as a kid while visiting the house of friends of my parents I was chased by a German Shepherd. I was probably 9-11 and just running from the back yard to the front yard for no particular reason. The Shepherd was a retired police K-9 and out of instinct and training the dog chased and tackled and bit me. It scared me shitless. So since a very early age I have been very keen to dog attacks.

Multi-State Adventure
On Saturday, dad & I decided to do a guy's day out. Part of the time, from home to Bi-Mart in Sunnyside, I was CCing. When we got to Sunnyside Bi-Mart, I took my coat off (as was getting too warm) & proceeded inside. No reactions from associates or customers. The next stop was (after dropping a family friend off at his home in Prosser) the Circle K in south Kennewick (Clearwater & I-82) to get some gas. Large amount of customer traffic at the time & no one said anything. We decided to head down to Wildhorse Resort & Casino, When we pulled into the parking space there at Wildhorse, I removed holstered sidearm & 2 spare magazines & placed them in the car's center console. As was going inside, I did notice a "No Guns" sign that was located on the lower window between the doors entering the casino near the security podium. We spent about 3 hours there & decided our luck ran out & headed out. We were getting hungry, so we stopped at the Pilot Travel Center in Stanfield to enjoy the Godfather Sub at Subway. Before going inside, I placed holstered sidearm back on hip & placed 2 spare magazines in pocket (no mag pouch yet). Just a couple of looks from some patrons, but nothing more. After enjoying the meal, continued to the Hermiston Walmart to so some window shopping. While back near the beverages/snacks, had a male customer take a bit of a sidestep when he noticed my sidearm, but no other visible reactions. After the window shopping, we headed straight home with no other stops.

When I looked at the Oregon codes they seemed a little messy when it comes to any carry

No I do not have the Oregon CHL, however Oregon does allow the carrying of a loaded sidearm as long as it's either "not concealed" or "not readily accessible" in a vehicle. The big problems of OCing in Oregon comes into play when you're along the I-5/I-205 Corridor where several jurisdictions have regulations on the books that state that only those who have a valid Oregon CHL can carry.
Multinomah County & Portland have the regulation on the books that your private vehicle is considered a public place, & in order to have a loaded sidearm in the vehicle you must have the Oregon CHL.

In Oregon a loaded sidearm may be carried in a vehicle as long as it is not concealed and is readily visible such as on the dash or passenger seat.
Only those that have an Oregon permit may carry loaded, one can openly carry unloaded without a permit in the cities that you are calling the I-5 corridor.
The entire state of Oregon considers a private vehicle a public place not just Portland.

Friday morning, my wife & I proceeded to Portland to attend the 92nd ARBA National Convention. On the way to Portland, we made stops (in Washington State) in Connell to gas up & get a few snacks, then our next stop was the Tesoro in Umatilla (now Oregon) for restroom/stretching, then Biggs Junction for restroom/stretching & driver switch (wife was driving until then). We got off of I-84 in Troutdale & made a quick restroom stop. While stopped, before exiting the vehicle, I removed sidearm & OWB holster from my right side & unloaded the ammunition from the magazines/chamber & placed them in the range bag I borrowed from my father. We then proceeded to the Portland Metropolitan Expo Center where we unloaded the rabbits we brought with us. After getting done with the rabbits, we proceeded to the hotel where we checked in (range bag carried over shoulder) & proceeded to our room where I put the contents of the range bag into the in-room safe (where they stayed until we were checking out).
On Saturday (Halloween) while I was working Security at the convention, I noticed a young woman with a sidearm placed in a right thigh holster. Age-wise I would say she was 21-22 (though I did not ask). She was with a group of 6-7 people & I asked her politely if she had an Oregon CHL & that I was asking cause of my knowledge of Portland/Multinomah County ordinances, which I relayed to her, & the presence of the holstered sidearm. She then informed me that it was a costume gun & verified that by showing me the barrel encompassed by the orange plastic. I thanked her for the verification & mentioned I didn't want to see her get into trouble for having the piece (which could be mistaken for either a 9 or a .40).
As mentioned earlier, the sidearm & other range bag contents stayed in the in-room safe until we checked out Wednesday Morning. I placed everything back in the range bag & carried the range bag over my shoulder out to the car, where we proceeded to the Expo Center to pick up the rabbits & to assist with check-out security. It was not until we got to The Dalles Fred Meyer where I took the sidearm & OWB holster out of the range bag & loaded 2 magazines while sitting in the vehicle & placed holstered sidearm back on hip. We then made a stop at the Safeway in the Dalles where I walked in with holstered sidearm (no one said anything about me carrying). We then got back on the road & made a stop at the Pilot Truck Stop in Biggs Junction to grab a snack at McDonald's. As we were leaving, I did notice a Hispanic gentleman go a bit bug-eyed when he saw my holstered sidearm, but no other reactions while there. We then proceeded to the Boardman Rest Area where we stayed for about 2 & a half hours napping, before proceeding to Umatilla to stop at Tesoro to stretch our legs, use the restroom, & get a snack. We then proceeded up I-82 into Washington where we stopped briefly at the Circle K in Connell before we got home.
Overall the trip was uneventful (sidearm wise), except for the one Hispanic gentleman at the McDonald's in Biggs Junction. I did not notice any other reactions from anyone.

A little over a week ago, the wife decided that we needed to go down to Hermiston to get rid of some recyclables. When we stopped at the recycling center, I was continually in & out getting bags out of the back of the truck, & no one seemed to bat an eye. After the recycling center, we made a quick stop at the Hermiston Walmart to see if we could get some products not carried here. We walked throughout the store, & no one seemed to care/notice.
This past Saturday, after getting done with the 2016 Tri-Cities Women's Expo, we went to Old Country Buffet located at Canal Drive & Grandridge to grab dinner. The whole time there, people seemed to be too focused on themselves to even notice. After dinner, we had to make a stop at the Pasco Walmart to pick up a few items, again no responses from anyone.
On a side note, the NRA Booth I did at the Women's Expo was right next to a Damsel in Defense booth (Stun Guns, personal alarms, pepper spray...) & those stun guns can really get a person's attention when you activate them. The booth on the other side of me was Domestic Violence Services. Both days of the expo, I only noticed one negative response about firearms, a gal with a young boy (6-8 years old) who walked by the booth in a brisk pace covering his eyes like I had pornographic material.
