I am from PA and today (6th of March 2008), I called the House Judiciary Committee where this bill comes from and spoke to JJ there, according to him it looks as this bill will do like it normally does each and every year and that is die for the year and then the GrassRoots people will get it brought up again next year. I questioned why this bill is just sitting and he said it has a minority report attached to it which means the ONLY way it gets debated on the floor is if there is NOTHING else to debate about and there IS something everyday to debate about so in short this will die again this year. CITIZENS OF SC speak up, call your senators and congressman's, try pushing them, if not this will not go anywhere. You can call yourself and they will tell you the same thing and that unless by magic there is nothing else to debate on then each and every day and every month it gets pushed back to the very last thing, thats bottom line

Martin is Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee. If Sen. Martin wants any bill to do so he can make it happen. Sen. Martin told GrassRoots leaders he would do this. Sen. Martin did not commit to sponsor the Gun-Free Zones Liability Act, but agreed to examine the bill and consider sponsoring it.
