And the likely November competition for Nixon in 1972, before being paralyzed by gunshot wounds. I was 8 years old at the time, I can remember McGovern but have no memory of the Wallace shooting. Like the Reagan shooting, the culprit was a loser who wanted to be famous. Those guys shoot up schools now, not politicians. GFZs offer up a lot less resistance than the Secret Service does.

RFK was a candidate assassination, I don't know how I forgot he was running for prez when he was killed.
