Revolvers are like old friends.....they are reliable and seldom let you down :)

Yup! I carry a Smith and Wesson model 10 chambered for .38 Special +P and I love it. I also have a Ruger Red Hawk in .45 Colt.

Things that have NOT happened to me while shooting a revolver;
Having a round hang up while feeding into the chamber.
Having a round fail to feed off the magazine.
Having a magazine drop out.
A stovepipe.
Forgetting to flip off the safety.

Give me the good 'ol wheelgun anyday!

When I was competing in PPC's and TRC's the best shooter's shot the whole course of fire double action and a lot of the dedicated match guns had no single action mode. Even through the course of fire allowed for single action to be used at certain stages.

I take it this was not any type of bullseye competition? How big were the targets? How big was the center mass zone? How big were the groups? Glocks have never even placed AFAIK at bullseye competitions, mostly custom 1911's. At one time custom Smith, and Colt revolvers built their reputation in the day.

Here is a builder of PPC guns~~http://brushcreekltd.homestead.com/PPCGuns.html

And what semi auto do we have here? http://www.sviguns.com/articles/ah092001/index.php

Another article on PPC~~http://www.tactical-life.com/exclusives/the-practical-pistol-course-turns-50/#image-6_phatch

And here is a page from PPC forum where a newbie is asking about Glocks~~http://www.network54.com/Forum/153070/thread/1409874799/last-1412073389/Glocks+for+ppc

Just like I would not want a dedicated PPC gun to carry for self defense I wouldn't want a standard Glock for a PPC match

Both would work in a pinch not the best tool for the job if one could pick.

The same reason I have a 17 drawer tool chest full of tools for mechanic work I like to chose the right tool for the job.
