Can you O.C. inside the casinos?

Yes, (short answer) when walking on the strip we do divert into casino's from time to time, Bathroom breaks, or watch a band play. So far no issues with our group, since the METRO training Tim was talking about. Things have become much more OC friendly, and we go down there occasionaly just to keep it that way.

I think a permit should be issued forOC like CC because training and background check are both important. Here in Florida we should be able to OC July 19. I for one am lookin' foward to the option. I believe if we all OC'ed the bad guys could get the idea their line of work could be very dangerous. Be honest, how many would still hunt if the critters were well armed well trained, and allowed to fire if they feared for their life. Not me!

I agree, kind of. Training is important. However, a right is a right. It is good to be educated when you go to the voting booth, but I don't look forward to the day where people are required to pass an exam before being allowed to vote and I think this is very similar in that respect.

I find it ironic that the news anchor referred twice to the "open carry law" when, in fact, it is the absence of any law that allows for the open carry of firearms.

There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that in some areas of the country the "firearms training industry" is the very reason legislation fails to pass that would make changes to allow "OC" .

I have training both formal and informal.
And I grew up using firearms and being "instructed".

I can tell you that it is pretty sad when I went to a "professionally taught class" and could point out the many mistakes of the instructor easily.

For a good comparative example, when I was a trucker we used to see the "driving school graduates" out there all over.
They made mistakes, ran over stuff, and generally were a hazzard to everyone around.
But they had "training", so they got to go play in traffic.
Some weren't too bad, but you could tell the ones who never got on the road for "real life" training.

The ones who had good ON THE ROAD training were a pleasure to be around.

Ability isn't measured by a certificate.
A "class" means very little to me, or to a lot of others.

So let me get this straight, I got a DUI in a big truck 11 years ago, not driving under the influence, just had truck running for heater and TV. but DUI just the same, but thats another story. So in Nv. I can carry openly with no problem, which I do every time I go to Nv., but if I lived there I could not get a CCW if I choose to, somethings not right with this

you can have a CCW after 5 years have lapsed since your DUI, assuming you didn't lie about it on your CCW application, in which case you are forever barred in Nevada.

Thinks for the info there Nevada carrier, now that makes sence. I would never lie about that stuff, its` to easy to check out, that was one of those times that I forced the issue of my rights and it come back to bite me in the butt, long story short, after seven days in jail MY lawyer came to me and said I could plead guilty and be out in an hour, or say i`m innocent and stay in jail tell my trial which he said I would win, but it would be in about three months, thay not only wouldn`t allow me to OR. thay wouldn`t even let me bond out, I plead guilty, he pulled papers from his briefcase, I signed and was out in about an hour no questions asked. The reason I tell everyone this is, I said on the Nv. thread that if LEOs asked to see my ID, ( even know I don`t have to ) I show it to them, its` easer and we part shaking hands. I now choose my battles, and for me this is one I choose not to fight! That DUI and a week in jail ruined my driving career, and I choose not to ruin my firearm freedoms for something we have a better chance winning in the courthouse, ballet box, editorials to the paper, ect...ect... Just my thoughts.

From the article:

But while openly carrying a weapon is not against the law, one expert says the practice could frighten tourists. And that's where problems arise.

...

“People see guns on occasion and get upset. ‘Oh my god, there is somebody carrying a gun.’ And they then call the police thinking that the person is committing a crime.”

What a wonderful opportunity to educate the exceedingly few who do call in that open carry is lawful in 9 out of 10 of our United States of America, and that the right to keep and bear arms is part of what makes and keeps, our great nation the free country that it is!

Seriously, folks, what's the better way to run a country? Bend the rules to fit the few who're fearful of reality, or adhere to the rules to ensure the integrity of our system of law and order is maintained at all levels?

I am afraid that if we beat this particular drum to much the anti's will more fully realize that they just need to pass a law making OC illegal (that is constitutional) instead of repealing one that makes OC legal....

I know 'tain't likely that they can make a constitutional law making the OC of a firearm illegal but THEY WILL TRY!
