• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.
  • The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.

quite interesting when visiting your site my google switches to french language when reading the numerous illustrious recent postings!!

oh wait those are the spam posts across the breath of OCDC

and the things i have learned so late in life about VIAGRA on those foreign language posts...

perhaps, just perhaps as the sign posted across the US 50 years ago should be posted on the forum's entrance

WILL THE LAST PERSON ON THE FORUM PLEASE TURN OFF THE LIGHTS

please know it has been fun exchanging ideas, meeting great people, celebrating their lives after passing, but it is quite a shame to watch the this august site...

Given my experiences with forum software..phpBB, vBulletin, Xenforo, I currently have active subscriptions to vBulletin and Xenforo forum software. In my experience, Xenforo(which is the software used to host this forum) is the best software to block out unwanted accounts/spammers etc. Every once in a blue moon, one will sneak past the security, but this is where active moderators/admins come into play.
I've said it before, this place is poorly run. You can't just install the software, throw some content in and hope it runs. You have to MANAGE it!

Very true.

When I was actively running another site, it took twice daily (at a minimum) maintenance for spammers and the like.

Easy enough to do, but it had to be done.
