i have been fortunately to minimize my 'zonks' of gun purchases, tho still stuck with a Walther 22 1911 want-a-be which consistently misfeeds and the repair shop has twice told me it is the ammo & not the firearm.

I've had no zonks, as you call them, but have avoided some too.

Have you changed the spring on your 1911? It may very well be picky on the ammo, wanting a specific range of gunpowder load.

happened when the 22lr ammo became in short supply so unable to verify if say match range would make the bloody thing happy. With availability of Aguila's ammunition becoming more plentiful and cost effective through numerous suppliers, i plan on begining running tests to see what makes the thingie happy.

I have SIG Misquito that has the same problem I think. I was told by SIG that the gun was built around a certain brand and grain. When I shoot that, no problems, with anything else problems with the feed.
