Raw milk advocate seized by armed, unknown men

James Stewart, the 65-year-old raw "milk man" and founder of Rawesome Foods, was assaulted near his home today by three armed men driving unmarked luxury vehicles with no license plates. Carrying firearms on their hips and dressed in gangster-style street clothes, Satanic T-shirt imagery and tattoos, they claimed to be making an "arrest" and verbally assaulted James, forcing his head against a car and screaming, according to witnesses, "You better listen to me or you're gonna have a bad f*ckin' day!"

James Stewart's cell phone was on the entire time, and a phone witness told NaturalNews the arrest was conducted "Nazi style." Meanwhile, James was screaming to anyone who would listen, "HELP ME! HELP ME! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?"

A partial video of the incident was captured by a witness. That video link is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYTP9C7jtrI

...Later in the so-called "arrest," one of the bounty hunters attempts to verbally intimidate the person filming the video, threatening them by saying, "You're interfering with an arrest, you're blocking traffic." In reality, the bounty hunter never identified himself, never read James any rights and was not involved in any legal arrest whatsoever. The whole thing was a charade carried out by what might appear to a rational person to be armed thugs driving stolen vehicles while impersonating undercover police officers.

In the video, what appears to be a firearm can be seen on the hip of one of the men wearing a pink shirt. At no point during the assault did these men show any badges or identification of any kind. According to California law, "All bounty hunters must carry with them a certification of completion of required courses and training programs."

According to witnesses, these armed men did not produce any certificates at all. Instead, they verbally intimidated the people filming the incident. One of the bounty hunters called the camera person a "retard" for daring to film him.

...When the witnesses filming the incident asked for the badge numbers of the individuals who claimed to be making an "arrest," they were told, "We're not the police so we're not gonna give you badge numbers."

It appears the only connection to OCing is that at least one of the "thugs" was OCing.
If there is a better connection would someone please point it out to me?
stay safe.

Skidmark; hence why it is in the Social Lounge.

I am not the only member on this forum who drinks raw milk (or believes in the right to be able to!), and I would hope I'm not the only member who considers it a vast overreach of the FDA, USDA and other government to criminalize consumption of a product they cannot regulate or control. This man was illegally arrested (given the information provided in the article), nay, perhaps kidnapped is a better word, and taken away by men with no badges, no uniforms, no markers or indications of law enforcement of any kind. For WHAT crime?

Doesn't it bother you that they arrested a citizen with no RAS or PC, admitted they were not police, did not verify that they were bounty hunters, and took him away in unmarked vehicles?

Last I checked, this was the social lounge, no? You know, the section for discussion not related to OC.

Are bounty hunters required by law to identify themselves ?

I don't think so, but they do have to have paperwork. While they do not have to read rights, they cannot abuse the person. And I would think they cannot intimidate civilians. I think being armed and calling someone a retard would warrant disorderly conduct arrests. The bar for DC is fairly low. I don't think they can seize property either.

So, apparent an innocent civilian was being beaten by civilian thugs. So, the moral of the story: Arm yourself, and if you are under attack by a group of thugs, skin your wagon and get to work.

I dont think so.

The subject willingly took out a bond with a private company. The private company put up their own money to get the subject out of jail and the subject agrees to terms when they accept the loan.

It appears the subject flaked on his agreement with the private bond company that put up their own money to get him out of jail.

Well, there is no reason for the private company to lose lots of their own money because the subject doesnt want to go to court.

Bounty hunters might be ******** but they wouldnt have a job if people lived up to the terms they agreed to when the bondsman got them out of jail.

Irrelevant, there is zero justification for treating any person the way the man was treated. The police ought not get away with it, and neither ought these so-called Bounty Hunters. Bounty Hunters are nothing more than security guards who took some required course--hell, many of those inflated chest a$$hats can't even carry a sidearm when they are playing cop.

I agree with you, BUT. He did appear to be cooperating, and the only thing he was being picked up for was violating bail. One or more of the BH outright threatened him. Also one of the BH approached the woman in a threatening manner while armed. Plus the BH were seizing property, that had nothing to do with their safety. At the very least their license should be suspended. I have done plenty of arrests of cooperative suspects, and the rough stuff is just not called for. Cuff yes, search for weapons yes, threats NO, unnecessary bumping HECK NO. All in all the actions of this team was an embarrassment to the professional bounty hunters.

The video doesnt show the entire incident but overall I think its much ado about nothing.

Personally I know for a fact that when people are in jail they call up bondsman screaming and crying and pleading and begging for mommy to come get them out of jail.

The bondsman puts up alot of money and takes a huge risk on the subjects behalf.

The subject owes it to the bondsman to keep in touch and follow through on their court appearances and payment of bond.

I am a libertarian who is anti-police and I believe we should have ALOT fewer laws and government in our lives. However, bondsman are private companies that provide a service to people and those people enter into these contracts willfully and consensually. Therefore, if you try to stiff them out of their hard earned money then they have every right to track you down. If they are meanies in the process then thats just something skips need to grow up and deal with.

Best way to avoid all this is to either not take bail money or to follow the terms and obligations of being out of jail ON SOMEONE ELSES MONEY !!!

I know a bunch of Left-fringe Anarchists that are anti-police as well, and who believe we ought to have fewer Laws, and Government. You are in good company:
