Shocking! Just like Harry Reid voted in favor of all the gun bills that were not going to pass, so he could be a gun friendly guy, (get votes) It comes down to control, which they believe is their job.

Is there anything left for the Republicans to stab us in the back over?

Yep. Brower has also effectively killed the carry of concealed firearms without a permit bill, SB 143. The latest on the bill on the legislature website reads : Apr 11, 2015 (Pursuant to Joint Standing Rule No. 14.3.1, no further action allowed.)

It's disgusting how a single man can thwart the will of the people and not give their elected representatives a chance to vote on this bill.

Did you see the open letter by Amanda Collins? She's one of the original proponents of the Campus Carry measure. I saw it on FB at One Million United. Not sure where to find it at their site at www.onemillionunited.com A good read.

Because begging for freedom you entrusted him with when "voting" them in is Sooo effective.

What are we left with? Throwing them out of office and tar and feathering them? American's don't revolt anymore. Our only recourse is simply disobey the law. American's won't vote the bums out and the Republican party is just a different flavor of control.

I'm all for John and Ken from LA's KFI "Heads on a Stick" Campaign

Start with registering Libertarian. Cut your old Republican voter card into four pieces and mail it to the Republican committee in your area, with photocopies to every one of our Elect Officials (not just those controlling your district), with a handwritten note explaining that you USED to be a Republican, but now they will have to EARN your vote -- if they can!

Get as many of your family and friends to do the same thing as you can, but send the cards and letters individually (rather than all together). If their staffers get 10 in one envelope, that won't have the same impact as if they had to open 10 separate envelopes to get the same message.

The only thing you lose is the opportunity to be ignored in the Primaries.

This has more effect that registering Independent -- they consider that to be simply hot air, they're confident that you'll keep voting for them. Registering Libertarian makes you a complete wildcard, and they pay more attention to those registrations than to any other party. Libertarian platforms are wide-ranging, with parts which fit Democrat candidates and parts which fit Republican candidates, and they don't know which will sway you in any particular election. A Dem who says that he or she will defend my civil rights will get my vote before a Republican who won't.

AB-148 (and other firearms-related bills) are languishing in the Senate Judiciary Committee - chaired by Senator Greg Brower.

The following email from Amanda Collins' father Thom is real. I've met, dined, and spoken with Thom and his family. They are genuine honorable folks.

Now I'm not so sure I can say the same about Sen Jud Cmte Chairman Brower.

AB-148 (Campus Carry) passed the Assembly and AB-148 SHOULD not only be heard by the Sen Jud Cmte, it should receive a committee vote. For reasons unknown, it now appears Senator Brower plans to not even hear the bill in committee.

AB-148 (and all others) must pass out of committee by May 15 - or the bill dies.

Subject: Campus Carry/ AB148

First, by way of introduction, I am Thom Collins, father of Amanda Collins and this is not Spam. I am sending you this email because you have in the past indicated support for Campus Carry; this year it is AB148.

I have just learned from two sources, including Greg Brower himself, that he does not plan to schedule a hearing on AB148 because he does not think there is enough support in the senate. Therefore I am asking you to contact Your state senator and Greg Brower 775-684-1419; Greg.Brower@sen.state.nv.us and Michael Roberson 775-684-1481 ; Michael.Roberson@sen.state.nv.us , Ben Kieckhefer, 775- 684-1450(Assistant majority leader) mailto:BenKeikhefer@sen.state.nv.us,and Scott Hammond (co Majority whip)775-684-1442, Scott.Hammond@sen.state.nv.us Let each of them know that you are not happy and that they should support the bill and you expect a hearing and a vote. Brower is the chair of Senate Judiciary and Roberson is the Senate Majority leader. These two call the shots.

Be forceful, but polite. No need to swear. Remind them that you will remember their vote when you vote. Please contact anyone you know who supports this bill and ask them to do the same thing. We really need to rally the troops and let our support be known. Up to now the antis have had the stage, now we need to be heard.

Thank you, Thom Collins

Senate Judiciary Committee:
Greg Brower - Chair
Becky Harris - Vice Chair

The following is from: http://www.muthstruths.com/2015/05/06/gop-sen-brower-poised-to-kill-anti-rapist-bill/

GOP Sen. Brower poised to kill Anti-Rapist Bill

On May 6, 2015, in Muth's Truths, by Chuck Muth

Despite misinformation by some anti-Second Amendment activists, guns aren’t about hunting.

They’re about self-defense.

Unfortunately in Nevada, the right to self-defense has been stripped from some of our most vulnerable citizens by a law making our college and university campuses “gun-free zones” – meaning the bad guys who don’t give a damn about laws have guns, while the law-abiding are disarmed sitting ducks.

Like Amanda Collins.

If you’re not familiar with Amanda’s story, you can hear it in her own words by clicking here.

In short, Amanda was brutally raped in the parking garage at UNR. Because of Nevada’s insane law banning guns on campuses, she was completely defenseless against her attacker – who a few weeks later raped and murdered another young woman – despite legally possessing a concealed carry permit.

In the last two legislative sessions, bills to allow “campus carry” were killed in the State Assembly by Democrats who refused to even allow the bill to come up for a committee vote, let alone a floor vote.

But this year, Republicans are in the majority in both the State Senate AND the State Assembly. And this time, the bill flew through the Assembly…passing overwhelmingly last month by a vote of 24-15.

So you’d assume the bill would pass in the Senate and be sent to Gov. Brian Sandoval for his signature, affirming Nevadans’ God-given right to self-defense.

And you’d be wrong.

But before you read the following email message that I just received, you might want to take your blood pressure medicine…

[copy of Thom Collins' email (as posted above)]

This is beyond outrageous!

It’s bad enough that these so-called “Republicans” in the State Senate are supporting the largest tax hike in Nevada history. But to kill a Second Amendment self-defense bill without even giving it a hearing, let alone a recorded vote?

Here’s the thing…

If what Sen. Brower is saying is true – that there aren’t enough votes in the Senate to pass the bill – then that means one or more Republicans is anti-Second Amendment because Republicans are in the majority.

Which means by refusing to hold a hearing on the bill or allow a vote on it, Sen. Brower is trying to protect one of more anti-gun Republicans from being exposed as anti-gun Republicans simply because they will have hell to pay in their next election campaign.

The people of Nevada did not elect these Republicans to hide from tough votes.

These people ran for office to make these tough decisions on behalf of the citizens of Nevada. If they’re more worried about keeping their seats rather than representing the people who elected them, then they shouldn’t even be in office.

Sen. Brower needs to stop covering for his anti-Second Amendment GOP colleagues, hold a hearing on AB148, and then conduct a committee vote on whether or not to send the bill to the floor of the Senate.

Anything less is nothing short of pure political cowardice.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The key word is "poised" - all we know now is that AB-148 and other good bills are NOT scheduled to be heard by Senator Brower's Senate Judiciary Committee. May 15, 2015 is the deadline; the bill(s) must be heard and voted out of committee or the bill(s) die.

Personally, I absolutely agree:
Sen. Brower needs to stop covering for his anti-Second Amendment GOP colleagues, hold a hearing on AB148, and then conduct a committee vote on whether or not to send the bill to the floor of the Senate.

Anything less is nothing short of pure political cowardice.

There is a pre made email ready to be delivered to the assembly available on the NVFAC web site for anyone that wants to flood the assembly with emails urging them to vote on these bills.

Although I wrote to every Republican state Senator about (6) weeks basically saying that I considered a NO vote on any PRO 2nd amendment "state treason" and vowed to never vote for them ever for ANYTHING, I didn't realize what a weasel Brower is. Although the below link is from a "Progressive" (Socialist under a different name) blog, it does show how he sucked up to the "tea party types" while running and praised them when others did and how he tried a run for Congress and NV attorney general. Because of term limits he is looking to the future. Trying to be a "moderate( (RINO) to go after some Dem votes when he tries to go national. He is a LOSER and I doubt he is going to change his mind.
