Unconstitutional. No due process, simply theft of private property by paid mercenaries using a crystal ball to claim they know something impossible for them to know. What an individual will do before he does it attempts to do it.

Foolishness pure and simple.

The man has not been charged with a crime but is expected to have a court hearing on Oct. 15. The man does not have a prior criminal history nor have police had contact with him before, according to Andrea Wolf-Buck with Redmond Police.
...it begins...your lawful acts contrary to state sanctioned sensibilities are now a cause for civil action against you...your inalienable rights are forfeit. WA citizens have abandoned their rights and embraced state issued privileges.

There should be vocal and energetic efforts, by those in that q-munity, to publicaly shame that cop shop for their unconstitutional acts.

Alas, these and other initiatives put on the ballot by state & outside well funded special interest groups, pushed hard by same, and marginally passed by the state’s citizenry ~ all without legislative accountability nor oversight as legislators cannot repeal nor change the citizenry passed statute‘s language for three years!

Oregon has same conceptual issues.

empathy...nope...the citizens shot themselves in the foot [pun intended] by not having the cojones to push for this process to stop. Until the system bites them in the derrière then they whine about the process.

Any update on this story?

SEATTLE -- A judge ordered authorities to return a Redmond man's guns weeks after police seized them for making an alleged threat of mass violence.

Last month, Redmond Police seized multiple weapons from a 23-year-old Redmond resident under the state's Extreme Risk Protection Order, known more commonly as a red-flag law. unquote
