Interestingly, several years [2-3] ago during a interview with several NC’s Wildlife Resources Commission middle/senior mgrs who were quite excited the NC legislation had ‘new’ access to fed $$$ and mandated ranges be built so citizens didn’t drive more than an hour to a state, not private, operated shooting range.

Enthusiasm waned and now i see why...the state apparently couldn’t [wouldn’t] pony up the $$$ down payments for a ‘gaggle’ of new state run ranges.

Bet the initiative gains favor immediately now the state sees a way to capture federal $$$ without oversight, er, uh, to benefit NC shooting enthusiasts!
