My fellow Open Carriers!

The Las Vegas Open Carry of Southern Nevada is conducting another monthly meet up! We’ve also enjoyed the ambiance of such wonderful hospitality by those establishments that not only welcomed us, but whom also support our constitutional rights.

I thought that this time, we could use a change of pace. You know, go back to those by gone days when “you kill it, you grill it” and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful. From farm fresh eggs to smoked “thunder chicken” (turkey), it’s time for all you law abiding armed citizens to grab your “smoke pole” and join with your fellow open carrying “gun slingers” at Black Bear Diner!

Please spread the word for the “Brush Busting” Meet-up! The info is as follows:

Date: January 31, 2015
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Black Bear Diner
6180 W. Tropicana Ave.
Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 368-1077

Hope to see you there! Remember to please bring your spouse! If you have a special someone in your life, please don’t forget to bring them too! As always, the more friends you bring the merrier! It's going to be a good time! And don’t forget to leave the “ACME Guns” at home.

***PLEASE READ***
Remember, we're striving to make this a monthly event so please give me, SharpShootur, a list of any and all OC friendly restaurants and dives that you know of or find. That way, we'll have variety as well as good times!

He desires that only traditional, holstered handguns be carried.

ACME relates to Roadrunner cartoons - Wile E. Coyote was always buying destructive devices from ACME.

I guess the only question is what gun should I bring? I haven't taken my Smith and Wesson .38 out for a while.

You really want an answer? Ok here goes. You want to carry the most reliable, effective and safe to carry firearm that has the ability to give you the best well placed controlled pair in any situation.

But I don't own a 1911... Lol, yet.

I agree. That's why I generally always carry one of my Glocks (G19 Gen 4 for OC). I feel pretty comfortable with a revolver, but capacity is the biggest issue there. When it comes to the meetups, I like to make a statement (about the only time I do) and a revolver catches the eye.

But you got a mighty good point there.

Plenty of revolvers meet the need in fine stile. I actual like seeing them OCed. I have a Red Hawk 7.5” would not mind OCing it. However it is my back up deer hunting gun. I have the scope dialed in well and reluctant to remove the scope. Also my practice and tactical training gun is my carry gun. At my age good to keep the confusion level to a minim.

We had I believe 15 at our meet, eat and greet. Great time again. Black bear restraint was great. The waitress had no problem taking some very nice tips from a bunch of open carry people. Kind of interesting how few of the long time posters attend these.
