I posted earlier about getting a CC permit but have given up on that for the one trip to York from VA. I will be carrying in the York area and on the fairgrounds. In VA fairgrounds are public land so carry is allowed unless the property is rented or leased. When rented or leased the public land turns into private property for the duration of the contract and the contract holder can limit firearms possession. Is this the same in PA?

Wow. You're really getting into the weeds here. Relax. First of all, concealed is concealed. Second of all, this is the same fairgrounds that hosts a gun show at least twice a year, maybe more. I have purchased firearms and ammunition on this property. The organizers required that anyone carrying unload their firearms before entering the show itself, but I don't think anyone's going to get mad at you for carrying.

You can check with the organizers of the event at the fairgrounds, but if there isn't anything EXPLICITLY stating no guns allowed, you are free to carry. York is generally speaking a gun-friendly environment, and if you go into the downtown area, I would highly recommend it. Not to say that downtown isn't nice, but they have their unsavory characters, if you know what I mean.

Steve, thanks for the feedback. Just like to take the temperature of the area. I normally OC with a BUG on my ankle but being out of my element (PA) I think I'll just take my BUG. Besides, I will have to go through Marylandistan and my lock box only holds one gun...
