I would have been there however; 140-mile round trip and I do ware the pants in our house that is if my wife lets me. I was unable to make this one. Good to see once again Golden Gate allowed you to have lunch. I was thinking the first time we had dinner with the open carry group at Golden Gate we were just lucky. Looks like Golden Gate will allow us in. Last time we were there, I did walk through the small casino and no one said anything. They have a great Shrimp cocktail if I am ever in the area may try one while open carrying.
I'm game if you want company to try open carry at the Golden Gate craps table. They deal a really good game -- $3 pass line with 10x odds. Their 21 game is usually acceptable, although not the best in town.
I practice concealed carry when going casino hopping, but I have stopped twice there to play when open carrying. Got no comments, although I did think security wandered by/around my table more than I typically notice.
I play regularly at their craps table. Maybe they (a) cut just me some slack as a regular, (b) the dealers were blind-eye reasonable just on those shifts, or (c) they were all unobservant like most folks.
I'm Okay for a weekend (when it only goes up to a $5 table, which ain't bad), but they might be more open minded on a weekday when they are hungrier for our business. I'm retired, so most anytime you're in town is good. Might get bounced, of course, third time is not always the charmed. I'll toss the dealers my club card to make them feel better about us.
I have their club coupons for a free shrimp cocktail and a $15 meal comp good for June or July we can share. You're right about their coffee shop being pretty good, one of the better ones around. Priorities: eat first, get trespassed second.
