Silly me. I forgot my phone was broken and answered it. Not going to happen today. Sorry guys.

I worked in the same facility for my entire career. I met and knew a long time friend as "Robbie." Nearing retirement I learned to address him as Bubber. Phone calls for Robbie meant that they were from work, and would be told that he was out fishing. A phone call from work was worth two hours.

similar thing with my wife. She's never been known by her full first name, Elizabeth, always a shortened version. If anyone calls and asks for 'Elizabeth' they get grilled as to who they are and what they want until they hang up. There was actually one yesterday afternoon that had the bad manners to say to me "I'm the one asking the questions", so I had to revert to my inner city Liverpool language that I'm more than fluent in.
