If they are determined enough to the point that they are already in the bank, and they leave at the sight of firearms on people's hips....
of course bad guys dont want to get shot, i dont think anyone does.
OK, this I can buy. Only I suspect that the "not wanting to get shot" instinct will induce most would-be bank robbers to at least case the place before they pull out their gun. You act like they run in guns a-blazin', when I suspect it's more likely they get in line and pull our their gun once they're up close and personal, or at the very least walk in with their gun still concealed, in order to enable a safe escape in the event there are unexpected cops in the bank or whatever.
