ECU-SCCC--FINALLY found a faculty advisor...
OK, we've been trying to get a faculty member to sign our paperwork for 2 semesters, and we just are having no luck. The one faculty member who was pretty sypathetic is going to be out on medical leave all next semester, so he can't sign, and we've contacted 4 others, and nobody seems willing to sign on as our advisor...
So whats the secret? Are we doing something wrong, or is it just that the Faculty here at ECU are a bunch of spineless, anti-gun sheeple who are afraid to "rock the boat"?
How have other SCCC groups convinced faculty members to sign their paperwork? Any suggestions?
(like many universities, we have to have faculty advisors sign our paperwork to be officially recognized, in order to participate in events, set up tables, hand out literature, etc...)
This is the 3rd semester I've been involved in trying to get SCCC started here, and the third where we've come up short on the paperwork. We've got MORE than enough student members, but no faculty want's to sign on.
Is our only option going to be to "go rogue" and just run this group outside of official recognition, and fund everything we do (flyers, posters, etc) out of our own pockets?
Any suggestions are appreciated!
