Four men entered EJ’s Place in Houston around closing 2:30 a.m. Saturday — but they weren’t paying customers.
The were armed and demanded money from the folks inside the bar.
But one customer decided to give these crooks something different.
The patron pulled out his own gun and began firing at the four men, KHOU-TV reported, adding that the intruders also fired weapons.

When all was said and done, two of the intruders were dead and the other two ran off, KHOU reported.
The armed patron also left, the station added.
“We’re still trying to determine who he is, and why he left the scene,” Harris County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Spurgeon told KHOU.
And what did people familiar with EJs think of the outcome?
“He has his right to protect himself and his family and his friends,” Charles Webb told KHOU. “It’s just unfortunate something like that happened.”
“Being a mom, yeah, I would feel safe knowing that he has a gun and he’s going to protect me in a robbery,” Danielle Russell told the station.
One longtime customer told KHOU that the man who reportedly killed the would-be robbers typically stays until the bar closes and then walks female bartenders to their vehicles. The person added that the customer wouldn’t start violence but would protect his friends.
“Everybody in there is just a happy…everybody’s real pleasant,” Webb added to KHOU. “I can’t imagine that happening there…It’s unfortunate that we live in that type of world.”
Investigators told KHOU that the shooting started before the intruders could steal anything.
