On the bottom of the chart, in the "Open Carry Without A CPL" section, it says
"Open & Concealed Carry in National & State Parks & Recreational
Areas (have some restrictions)"
And the box is checked with a "Y", which indicates that one could carry concealed or openly without a CPL.
I believe that this is inaccurate, and could lead someone astray.

I ran into someone open carrying at Meijers today, and in our conversation he stated he did not have a CPL. My local Meijers sells alcohol. Is he breaking the law? I thought according to this chart, you can not carry a gun on any establishment licensed by the Michigan liquor act. Unless you have a CPL or have the owners permission. Which he argued he did not have or need because alcohol is not Meijers main source of sales. I wish I would of had this chart today.

If they did NOT have a CPL, you are correct, he was breaking the law...! I hope whoever it was finds this post and does not do it again, they could get seriously jammed up! :0

Yep, its a 234d violation, a misdemeanor, and an 8 year CPL revocation.

It comes from having two separate laws regarding firearm possession and places licensed to sell alcohol. It's too confusing. Most of the people out there only know the laws as they pertain to concealed carry and erroneously assume it is the same for OC without a CPL...which it's not.
What's really sad is these people are going to get nabbed and then loudly blame MOC because "we told 'em they could do it."

The federal reserve bank is affiliated or part of the federal government as much as the federal express shipping co. or the federal amunition co. is part of the federal government. The federal reserve bank is in fact, nothing more than a privately held corporation owned by it's share holders, it's board of directors, and it's CEO. It basicaly has NOTHING to do with the federal government. Except, maybe, it's in the business of helping the federal government to legally launder vast amounts of misappropriated, and or miss-allocated funds. Just my 2 cents..RH

Yer absolutely right Stainless, they can do that bein a private corporation an'all, that is their right. (not that I ever will find myself needin to be wanderin into any building labeled "federal reserve bank") So, It's not on my top ten list of concerns for today.

Could I have OC'ed?
My neighbor just called me and told me they heard a nosie and thought there might be a robber in their house. They live about 10 houses down. These are very close friends of mine so I loaded my handgun and put in back in my case. I ran down the street and upon getting to their house I then took it out of the case and entered the house with the neighbor, gun in hand. The house was clear with no problem.
My question is this: Could I have loaded my handgun at home and holstered it at my house and walked to his house with a loaded gun in my holster. I have a outside holster.

You could wind up getting yourself in a crap ton of trouble if you had to shoot someone. A really good lawyer might be able to get you off, provided the case went perfectly, and the judge and jury went by the law, by the book, but they seldom do.
I hate to jump down your throat, thats typically not how I greet the new-b, but you have got to think. Please please stick around, there is a lot you need to learn. Talk, post, ask lots of questions, we all love to help out around here.
