Hi all, I'm new to the forum but I'd been lurking on and off for awhile. I live in Bloomington, 5 minute from MOA. I carry all the time, sold my M&P40C so I can no longer conceal.
Anyhow, I like to share a little story about what happened yesterday. My family and I went to STP to shop at the Hmong Village and I, of course, was open carrying. I was approach by two Hmong security/officer and was asked the usual (Do you have a permit to carry, etc). I'd handed them my permit along with my license, they'd went on with their business after every checked out. Five minutes later, they'd came back and said they'll have to confiscate my weapon til I leave, I'd informed them that there were no posting on any of the doors, and that I was carrying legally. After a few words, I'd told them that I'll gladly leave if it's a problem. They'd said it was ok if my family and I choose to leave, and so we did.
In no way did I disrespected their authorities, I'd actually shook both their hands before exiting. Now there's a big sign on their doors now.
So for the record, Hmong Village in STP isn't gun friendly.
Anyhow, I hope to see some of you open carrier out and about.
