Had a rendezvous with a friend at about 17:00 at Tom's Donuts in Angola, Indiana. Since the temperature got up to 50 F. +/-, I decided to OC. I wore my Carhart jacket unzipped with a 2 1/2" Smith & Wesson Model 66 in an IWB, right-hand appendix carry. The revolver was quite visible.
The waitress got big eyes when she poured my coffee, but made no comment. A couple of the customers noticed when I got up to use the sanitary facilities. (You can't buy coffee. You only rent it.) My friend noticed as soon as I sat down across from him, but he's a 2nd Amendment brother. We sat & visited for about 2 1/2 hrs. The waitress & a couple of customers sitting at the counter had a short conversation about my revolver, but none of them approached me. I doubt if any of them realized I'd heard any of their conversation.
The waitress kept our coffee cups filled & chit-chatted with us when filling our cups & she kept a pleasant smile on her face. No LEO showed up & I didn't get any nasty stares that I noticed. The waitress & I exchanged Christmas greetings when her shift ended & she was leaving.
