• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.
  • The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.

That is because MOC has a chain of command and it was not your place to post an event you did not setup. Any official MOC events are to go through the chain of command so there are not any double bookings or other mistakes made. Further official events are to be posted by either the region or local coordinator or their designee. This is so we have a handle on all of the postings so if there is a change we know all the places it must be announced and so we have control of all those places!

This is not intended to bash anyone but is simply how we do things. Once an event is posted officially there is no issue with linking it or emailing it to friends. However we do ask that no changes be made. And remember the original post might change so a link is always best.

Although I think it wise for an organization to try to maintain official/sanctioned communication, the "control" that organization can exert upon a NONmember who chooses to post is very limited. Enough said about that...

Regarding the previous posts in this thread, I originally intended to remove a few. But, upon further reflection, I think I'll leave them as proof of my contention that a certain organization continues to be "immature". Hopefully, those who claim to speak publicly for that organization can learn to state their thoughts without attempting to tear others down with childish "one-up-manship".
