I am interested in experiences that members may have had with open carrying and wearing a ballistic vest.
I'm struggling through all the different information out there about where it supposedly is and isn't legal and I don't have a clear understanding yet.
But I am interested and would consider wearing a ballistic vest of some sort depending on the legal hurtles.
Any one been confronted by LEOs over their ballistic vests?
Any good answers or ways to handle the situation?
For us who do not intend to commit crimes, any instances where you've found that ballistic vests are not allowed or not legal?
The vest thought came to mind after reading a few times people that said OCing allegedly makes you more likely to be shot first.
Second, I see a lot of video and audio recordings by OCers which seems like a very intelligent self protection measure.
Are there any limits in your experience to wearing cameras for in the event of certain encounters?
Does the camera run non stop?
Are there any affordable/reliable options people have found for wearable cameras?
Also what's your feeling/experience on whether the camera is visible or covert?
I'm trying to think out all my ends to be able to most adeptly address LEO's and concerned citizens in a way that is legally safe for me, and creates a positive impression on those I deal with whether Officers or interested Civilians.
I feel I have so much to think about as far how to respond and talk to people about my OC choices and actions.
Thank you.
