How easy to get & cheap is 357sig ammo compared to 40?

We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Doing a quick price check online, 357 sig in bulk around $.50/round and .40 around $.30/round. 357 sig has never been cheap. I thought about one once but availability (can't get at Wally world in a quick pinch on the way to the range around here) and the cost deterred me from ever getting serious about it. That was just me though.

Unless you reload in which case you can use 9mm bullets and re-use your spent cases. But that assumes you have everything else to reload.

If you do it, let me know. I have an unused set of Lee .357 Sig dies that I'll let go for less than cost. And I have a lot of brass, too, mostly nickel that was picked up after the Air Marshals were done using a local range.

The other thing is, the 357 sig and the 40 S&W use the same mags. The only real difference is the chamber. So you could pick either and then pick up a barrel for the other and have both. And then add a 9mm barrel and G17 mags and have 3 calibers. So it's basically flip a coin.

I'd suggest one of these instead. Just my personal preference. It's already built to handle .357 sig ammo as long as you purchase an after market barrel.

I think the 357 sig is a very nice round if some one else is buying your ammo.
