North Carolina Republicans want to give armed teachers a raise
North Carolina state legislators introduced a bill that would give trained public school teachers who carry weapons a 5 percent raise.

If they are exercising their constitutional Right to carry, it is an infringement to require training.
If they are carrying as an agent of the State, then by all means, I want State actors who carry to have been trained.
Not a useful comment. At best, it serves to antagonize. A useful comment would deal with whether or not you think armed State agents should be trained in the use of the firearms they will be carrying (and possibly using) on behalf of the State.I want alot of stuff too. But that's irrelevant.

Again, I think police (and teachers, if they are carrying as part of their duties working for government) should be given mandatory training. If teachers are being allowed to carry solely because they have that Right, then I agree that mandatory training is an infringement.
PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF NORTH CAROLINA http://www.localschooldirectory.com/state-schools/NC
If 22% of the 109634 teachers in NC were armed there would be about 9 armed teacher in each of the 2615 schools in NC. Pretty good odds that this would deter any criminal element intent upon violence once the state published this fact. There could be more or less teachers in any given school, and likely less in urban schools, if any at all. But, the information would be "out there" and deterrence is a good thing.
