It' now getting even better. They are now taking DNA swabs from all the residents.

Did they start with likely suspects.

You know. Cops.

Holiwell remains in King County Jail charged with three felonies, including promoting prostitution, theft and drug dealing.
Here's Da Man himself, former King County Sheriff (and head firearm trainer, and SWAT team member).

Two married, veteran Tulsa police officers have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man who was walking with their daughter, authorities said

The Keplers, who have been with the department 24 years, have both been placed on administrative leave. Shannon was arrested for first-degree murder, and Gina for accessory to murder after the fact.

Why is the FBI involved? This is not a crime that has crossed state lines.

Why are they harassing hundreds of innocent people when the prime suspects seem to be family?

Make them get the warrant. Make them follow the process. Get the damn judges on record if they are issuing warrants without cause.

I'm going to go heartless and remind everyone of the big picture. The Constitution is in place to prevent the personal feelings at the moment from destroying the fabric of American freedom. The parents should never be faced with how they should feel about 5 of their neighbors refusing a search, when 155 did, and the child was never found. Those five PROBABLY STILL INNOCENT neighbors should never feel that kind of pressure.

That said, kidnappers should be tortured.

How strong is the evidence that the child is still in the neighborhood?

What are the limits of proximity to probable cause?

+1

When you submit to a warrant-less search, you have just handed over your rights as a citizens, and do not deserve to ever regain them. You should also make every attempt to make a video or audio recording of any contact with these government goons. There are smart phone apps to do this if nothing else, especially if it turns out be a "Boston Special" search, where you are forced out of your house at gun point.

A warrant has to state the probably cause, and living on a specific street, or within a certain distance of a crime scene is not probably cause. In the aftermath, any judge that would sign a warrant just because the house is located in a neighborhood should be removed from their position of authority, for they are either abusing it for political gain, or they have failed their oath to uphold the Constitution.

We've got to get people used to having the federal government step in for anything that could happen.

"We had the FBI helping with our speeding problem. We did not have enough officers to do traffic enforcement so, we have the FBI helping out now."

This is not a good thing.

Doesn't the FBI have jurisdiction on kidnapping, regardless of whether it is known that state lines are yet involved?

I will never agree to a warrant-less search; not because I have anything to hide, but because I have rights to defend.

Looking through fbi.com (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/faqs), and Justice.gov (http://www.justice.gov/usao/eousa/foia_reading_room/usam/title9/crm01601.htm) the only kidnappings they immediately have jurisdiction over are members of congress, certain members of the Executive Branch, and family members of federal and former federal employees. But the last two must be shown that the kidnapping was done to either impede federal operations or in retaliations to such.

So yeah, learn something new. I was under the same impression that kidnapping was immediately a federal jurisdiction, even without crossing state lines. But it's not so immediate, or cut and dry.

FBI offer assistance to the local jurisdiction and in this day and age once you have been missing long enough to "possibly" cross a state line they have their "justification" to aid the locals.
