Panel sinks gun ban at State House YEAH!!!!!!

A legislative committee voted yesterday to repeal the ban on carrying guns in the State House.

The 10 Republicans on the Joint Legislative Facilities Committee voted to repeal the ban in the State House complex; the only dissenter was Senate Minority Leader Sylvia Larsen, a Concord Democrat.

From the comments of some of the lawmakers it seems like you've got some good people in the house. BTW, I'm not familiar with NH politics - is the Concord area more anti than most places in NH?

I have personally lived in this state for a little over a year now. I have heard of some people having problems with open carry but it is a very very small percentage. I have been open carrying all over this state Concord, Manchester, and my home city of Lebanon. To date I have never had an issue with anyone over carrying a lot of curious and positive feedback. I had one issue with carrying in my local bank, but it was resolved very quickly. It was do to a lack of knowledge of the law by the bank manager. It is my personal opinion that Concord is no more anti then any other place. You have your anti's everywhere but I think the majority of the people in this state are either for gun carrying or just do not care either way. There is a very small percentage of people that are 100% dead set against it.

Too bad they didn't have balls to allow OC on the chamber floor. Rep JR Hoell of Dunbarton (Merrimack 13) tried to get OC by Citizens allowed, but couldn't muster support.

There have been so many news reports with incomplete information, or seemingly conflicting information, that I'm not sure what the the actual new status is of guns in the State House.

Hallways versus chamber versus gallery?

Open versus concealed (times the above three locations)?

Licensed versus not?

There was a lot of rapid fire on this issue, and I suspect some unintended consequences were adopted.

AFAIK everything except the chamber floor is OC or CC (with license), chamber floor is CC only (licensed)
