Here's my OC Day!

Hopped in the Geo Mobile, and headed north on Hwy 9. Kept going North until hitting SR 542. Thought about going to Mount Baker, then said: "Nah, I need to get back home.", So that's what I did.

Hit Safeway in Lake Stevens and picked up 2 20 Pound bags of cat litter, no comments or weird looks at all.

The Kimber was there the whole time!

Went to Starbucks and got some kind of frappucino. No issues.

Went to 7 11 and got some scratchers. I won 2 dollars.

Went to the Tulalip casino. Started with 20 dollars at Spanish 21. I got up to about 45 dollars and then lost it all.

Went to Cabelas. Spent a couple hours in there. I'm like a kid in a candy store in there. I looked at some 1911's, shotguns, and AR's. I ended up buying some .40 S&W snap caps, double pistol mag pouch, single mag pouch, and some ammo storage boxes.

Went and saw The Avengers. Good movie.

So that was My OC/CC day. No issues or comments at all today.

Since this is a thread about where one Open Carried in Snohomish County, I assume you Open Carried in all these places you went? How were you received at the Casino?

Saw a unicorn yesterday! (Saturday) I had to stop by Cabela's to get my fishing license and it was the usual OC in there, except for the firearms check/greeter guy that had the googlie eyes, but we exchanged hi how ya doin's and everything was fine. I noticed the OCer as I was heading out, he was talking to his kid as he came in the store and was OCing a Taurus Ragging Bull in a right-side, leather low-ride belt holster...no retention I think. He looked busy so I just kept walking out with my friend. I'm guessing he isn't on the forum though because it looked exactly like what AmLevin referred to. That is, carrying a HUGE/fancy gun because of the "occasion"...going into Cabela's (not to mention a huge gun that most people can't make a follow-up shot with...if they can even make the first double-action shot). Let's hope that's not the case though.

Does not sound like me (we also have met before...) But I was OC up at Cabela's twice yesterday, once around 4 or 5 and then agian around 9 at close. Lines were nice, thank god.

I also carried at our coffee meet (good turn out), tech city bowl, Fred Meyer gas (x2 truck and car), Walmart in marysville (x2), DQ in marysville. Busy day, no issues.

OCed in Starbucks, 7-11, and Cabelas. I CCed in the Casino and movie theatre. That's why I said it was great OC/CC day.

Another ride into Monroe on my Mountain bike. 1 open carry zero problems. Shopped at Pacific Power and Batteries, The Sewing and Vacuum store behind Ben Franklin, Chain Buffet, and Grizzly Sports. Positive experiences all around.

Zero police to be seen even. Except for the fact I am working on getting back in shape and so still getting sore it was a good day.

Hey how is that Pacific Power batteries? Worth the trip? Need a new battery for my Zuki & trying to get the most bang for the buck, as it were.

Regardless of the name on the battery, if it's an automotive type battery, there are only 5 manufacturers. For all practical purposes they are all the same, just the labels and Marketing BS change.

If price is an object, wait for a Sale at O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Wal-Mart, Les Schwab. Chances are you'll get one for far less and it will just have a different label on it. Johnson Controls is the largest manufacturer. Exide is another popular one along with East Penn Manufacturing. Even the popular Interstate and Die Hard batteries are made by Johnson Controls.

So much for one being "better" than another.

On the whole, I'd agree with that. A vented lead acid battery is a vented lead acid battery. There are some notable exceptions though. WestCo sealed batteries run 50% $ more but deliver. My motorcycle sits in storage for months at a time and this battery is one less thing I have to worry about when I roll out after a contract. If you're someone who takes the time to take care of your vehicle routinely, it may not be worth it but if you need to have a trouble free battery that will last, check them out. There are other batteries to look at too.

Started my day off going to 7-11 to return a Redbox DVD and get some cash from the ATM. While there I got a couple scratch lotto tickets and a quart of OIL. No problems.

Went to Starbucks between Taco Bell and Carl's Junior off of I-5 202 ramp. Got a Grande Iced Passion Tea. While there enjoying my tea, I scratched my lotto cards. I Didn't win :(. Oh well.

Went to the Taco Bell next to Starbucks. Had 3 supreme tacos.
Cashier: "Is that a .45?"
ME: "No it's a .40"
C: "How much does the concealed license cost?"
M: "Around $50. I can't remember the exact amount."
C: "Oh that's not to bad. I thought it would be more."
M: "Nope. Also you don't need to have a CPL to carry openly like I am. You only need the CPL to conceal it and to have it loaded in a vehicle."
C: "Oh that's cool. You have to be 21 to get the CPL right?"
M: "Yes. However you can openly carry at 18 as long as a gun is gifted to you or someone gives you permission to carry theirs. Providing you're legally eligible to own a firearm."
C: "Did not know that. Thanks for the info."
M: "You're welcome"

Went to Albertsons off State Ave. It was a good experience until the end. I will post more about it in another post.

So that was my OC day.

I did not mean to give him false information. I stand corrected. It was a quick chat and we didn't go into much detail.

Carried my new Polish P-64 (Walther PPK Style Handgun in 9x18mm) in a leather Holster in Safeway in Lake Stevens yesterday. My Dad was griping the whole time about "You're going to get in big trouble!", and "Someone is going to attack you!". But no one seemed to notice, and we got all the shopping done with no trouble. After that, we went into Taco Time to pick up some food, and again "You're going to get us kicked out! They're going to call the cops on us!", but no trouble there either. Hmm, Maybe my Dad is wrong on that account? Then after we order food, he says "Bo's Packing Heat, just wait for a BG to race in here and you can fill him full of lead!". Dad watches too many Vigilante movies, ugh.

So that was the day. No trouble, and the P-64 was happy to get carried again after sitting in a box for 35+ years.

How's the recoil on that lil thing?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I took it down into the yard and put 5 rounds through it when no one was looking. Recoil is very stout, and the gun barks like an angry dog! But it's not too bad, just don't limp-wrist it and you'll be fine. I do know that the 9x18mm Round packs quite a punch in such a small package!

Cavalero Dog Park in Lake Stevens: same as always...nothing

Cabela's: needed to do some reloads before Thursday so I picked up some bullets (usually try to buy them online but oh well). Walked in front of a Tulalip cop on patrol on my way out and smiled at the officer. He didn't seem to care. Oh and the firearms check-in guys got the googlie eyes again but we just exchanged hellos and that was that.

Haggen's in north Marysville and Subway in Lake Stevens....nothing.
